Free Workshops

Rising Sun Entrepreneurs is proud to hold free workshops for Mobile Food Vendor entrepreneurs. The workshops are held twice per month and provide small start up, food business owners all of the necessary information necessary in order to start a mobile food vendor business. The workshops last about an hour and half. If you’re just starting a mobile food vendor business, the information you will get during the workshop is invaluable. Rising Sun Entrepreneurs is the only place in the area that will provide new vendors with this information for free so don’t miss the opportunity.

During the workshop we cover the following:

- Local Health Dept. requirements for caterers and Mobile Food Vendors
- Basics of getting started in the business (the baby steps)
- Kitchen and Facility Tour
- Commercial Kitchen Overview
- Facility Use Overview

The workshops are held at La Placita Building – 2375 Fruitvale Ave in Oakland), 3rd Floor.

The workshops are lead by Emilia Otero, the founder of ACAF, Oaklands first Mobile Food Vendor association, and Shelly Garza, Rising Suns General Manager. Both ladies have a collective experience in the mobile vending industry of over 20 years.
